It’s a shame that the old Boathouse @ Lake Daylesford burned down in 2012, but we were even more curious about how the rebuilt of the 1930s historical restaurant looks like. Sadly, we couldn’t visit the original one but I have to say, the restaurant has been perfectly rebuilt. Its carries on its coziness and charms from the past and present to all its visitors.
Love seeing all the paddle boats near the house where people can just paddle across the Lake Daylesford and do some sightseeing on the water. Kids and families are enjoying some picnics on the grassland nearby where bigger kids just jump into the water to celebrate the hot summer.
The Boathouse @ Lake Daylesford | Food
We had lunch here two days in a row, which can be a strong proof of its taste and warm service. Fish and chips, and a bowl of mussels are must-have, they are so delicious!
The fish was cooked so well and tender, not too rich; and the tomato sauce of the mussels with ginger-garlic was just full of flavor. And the quantity is for sure to match the price, to be frank, wasn’t cheap.
Plus, the Kids Pasta and Fish and Chips were a success with our little Zonni too!
However, this restaurant was ranked as the 11th best restaurant in Daylesford, honestly, in my opinion, The Boathouse @ Lake Daylesford definitely deserves the title or maybe better!
