I always think unless you go to a food court, having a meal in the shopping centre is a rip-off, so better be prepared to throw out cash painfully if you’re too lazy to walk to another end of the mall.
This happened to me. After hours of non-stop Christmas shopping (mostly window shopping so don’t panic hubby), I was starving! As a sweet tooth plus small lunch eater, I don’t want to walk all the way to the food court but just wanted to sit down and have some chai with some sweets.
Laurent Bakery | How much for the cake!?
Here I am, standing in front of the counter of
Laurent Bakery next to David Jones in Chadstone, trying to choose a piece of cake from all the non-priced dishes, what a surprise! I’m amazed by their staff’s memory, the number just popped out of their mouth like a reflex.
I ordered a soy chai, which was fine, price wise, average. And a little raspberry cheesecake, size-wise, perfect for my appetite, as in petite; price-wise, I don’t know how famous Laurent Bakery cakes are, but I’m not planning to pay $8.25 for this little snack size so-so taste cake for a second time.
Laurent Bakery | Good Place to Relax
Laurent Bakery itself has a fine dining area so you don’t feel cramped with your bulky pram; also, it’s right in front of Armani junior, so I assume the restaurant owner reckons you have a fat wallet and an impulsive baby shopping brain since you can shop around here for littlies. The little one was up for a bit but now back to sleep again.
Checked time, think I got another 30mins before next feed, so I’m going to take my time on this tiny cake and enjoy some quality time of myself.
Other place to try at Chadstone: Papparich.
Bye for now.
