For whatever reasons, this winter school holidays passed by so quickly, that I haven’t even noticed it was started, and it’s over in a few days.
For us at the moment, school holiday doesn’t mean much expect all kinds of activities that can exhaust my babies and make them happily sleepy.
Here we would love to share some options of events for you all to enjoy the rest of the holiday, hope it’s not too late when you see it haha.
IKEA Winter School Holidays | Activities
This one popped in my mind the first, since its always our favourite time to dig inspirations without being broke, and of course an easy budget-friendly meal for everyone in the family.
To see what’s happening in all the other IKEA stores during the Winter School Holidays, please check here.
The weather hasn’t been so cooperative, the sun waited long enough to come out. Let’s hope the weekend is going to show some sunshine. In Melbourne, there’s never a lack of interesting and family friendly parks with playgrounds. Based on our experienced, a few parks are worth of mentioning.
St Kilda Adventure park | St Kilda
St Kilda adventure park is a hidden gem, it’s adventurous park will make your littlies go mad for hours. Well, luckily, many nice cafes nearby will get you a nice selection of lunch or coffee options!
More details check here.
Royal Park Nature Playground | Parkville
Another great outing option would be the royal park nature playground in Parkville. This park has a large climbing area build with wooden logs, ropes and various length of slides, which provide so much fun for your active cheeky monkeys. With the upcoming sunny weekend (if the forecast is precisely correct), this place is probably my top choice. However, it doesn’t provide much shade, so just prepare a few more layers for you and your little ones, in case the Melbourne weather feels like some changes. For more details check here.
Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden | Melbourne
If you’re keen to travel to city fringe for a family day trip, the Ian potter foundation children’s garden will be a nice little spot to visit and share some love with plants and its green environment. It would be a nice place to get their little hands dirty and have some fun with water features. What a great choice to have some fun and learn something too! It’s in the middle of the royal botanic garden, where you can easily park just outside the reserve. However, better be early, its also always a gorgeous location for a nice walk, run and day out, so you won’t be the only one thinking of this as a destination of enjoying a bit of good weather.
There are no doubt more parks and playgrounds out there for us to go explore, please feel free to share here so we can all spread the words & share the love!
Sliver circus is in town again! This is one of the best circuses in the world. This winter school holidays, more excitement is brought to life in their magical tent and this is a fascinating event to attend with the whole family. Its super fun, exciting, lots of laughter, well, quite loud of course, so maybe not so suitable for kids under 3. To see details of the event dates/ time and tickers; please check here.
Disney On Ice | 100 Years of Magic
Last but least, Disney on ice, since it’s their 100th year anniversary, they bring us an awesome show filled with classic Disney movie music, colourful costumes, all your favourite Disney characters and beautiful dances on the ice. Your eyes will be busy taking in all the elements of a great performance! Most importantly, your kiddos will have a ball!
We went last and I think I was more enjoying looking at my dear Zonni’s happily surprised face than the stage haha. If you’re in Melbourne, you’ve just missed out, however, Disney one Ice will have some more shows coming up in the next few weeks in Sydney and Newcastle. Please check their website for more details.
Alright, hope I share this on time, so you still get the chance to enjoy some of it. Or keep in mind for your next school holiday!
Have fun in the sunshine!
