Prawn Crackers with Satay Sauce

Prawn Crackers with homemade satay sauce; this one is my smart hubby’s specialty, both making and eating. So I got permission to share it here. But please if you are looking for something healthy, excuse me, do not waste your time here 🙂

SERVING SIZE: 20 Prawn Crackers
Yields1 ServingPrep Time5 minsCook Time10 minsTotal Time15 minsCategory, ,

Ingredients

Prawn Crackers
 20 Dehydrated Prawn Crackers
150 ml Oil (preferable canola or vegetable)
Satay Sauce
2 tbsp Peanut Butter (smooth not crunchy)
3 tbsp Kecap Manis; we personally use ABC Kecap Manis
 150 ml Water

Directions

Prawn Crackers
1

Heat up the oil on a high fire.

2

Test the temperature by adding one prawn cracker in the oil. Once it changes rapidly the oil is hot enough to fry the other once.

3

Fry the rest of the prawn crackers 2 at a time; otherwise they can get stuck.

Sate Sauce
4

Mix all the ingredients in a medium pan at a medium heat.

5

Keep stirring till the sauce is well combined and thickens up. If it's too thick then add a bit of water accordingly, taste the flavour along the way.

Done! Turn the fire off, time for some Satay Sauce dipped Prawn crackers!

When was the last time that you had the mood to check out the 1000 steps in mt Dandenong? And, plus, when was the last time you found out that  you had to drive to a nearby town up in the hills to get a cuppa after your hike?
