Ingredients
500 g Pork Sausages (the fattier the better) (approx. 6-7)
1 Egg
3 Sheets of Puff Pastry
1 tsp Salt
1 Carrot
Directions
- Preheat the oven at 200 degrees and line a baking sheet on a baking tray.
- De-freeze 3 sheets of Puff Pastry
- Peel and rasp the carrot in a small bowl.
- Add the salt to the rasped carrot and mix it well. Let is sit for a few minutes.
- Take the “meat filling” out of each sausage.
- Divide the sausage meat over the 3 sheets where each sheet has 2 “long sausages.
- Take the carrot/salt mixture out of the bowl and squeeze out the excess water.
- Put a little bit of the carrot/salt mixture besides the sausage meat.
- Crack and whisk the egg in a bowl to create an egg wash.
- Add some egg wash with a brush on the middle and all sides of the sheet of puff pastry. This is the glue to keep it all together!
- Fold the edge tightly together with the filling, and roll it till the other edge of the pastry.
- Cut the sausage rolls in quarters.
- Place all the mini sausage rolls on the baking sheet.
- Make 2 small cut on each of the mini sausage rolls
- Use the brush to apply a thin layer of egg wash onto the top of the sausage rolls, then repeat this step one more time so it will come out golden and extra crunchy!
- Place them into the preheated oven for approx. 25-30 minutes until they are crispy and gold brown!
- Enjoy!
