There’s a new favourite in Cheltenham for coffee lovers, and by the name of it, it’s not going to be just puppy love, they’re here to stay, it’s The Groundskeeper asking for your attention!
Hubby quickly mentioned this new place that just opened close to Cheltenham Station since its close to parking and we only had 30 mins for a quick lunch date.
I went and was quite impressed. Walking into this spacious café, all I felt was calm and really hoped I had a bit more time to sit in and enjoy. I could see they have a really big and comfortable backyard for all kinds of gatherings, definitely let my mother’s group know.
So far, the decor was really modern, simple and neat. Cheltenham always gives outsiders an image of being a large, industrial and not so stylish and cosy suburb. Apparently, they did a good job changing this view.
Now down to the taste of The Groundskeeper’s food. As super coffee lovers, we can say this will be our regular spot for caffeine down the track, either sit in or take away.
The Groundskeeper | The Food
For a quick lunch, we ordered something small and light from their small plate menu. Lightly fried calamari with wild rocket, shallot, fresh lemon for me and Lamb ribs with chermoula and honey for hubby. The calamari was exceptionally tender and flavoursome, portion-wise isn’t much, for the price tag of $16, honestly, its expensive, but hands down, it’s yummy!

And the lamb ribs, I didn’t even get much taste of it since it was quickly swiped by its temp owner, one bite, meat was well roasted and super tender and sweet, fatty but not rich. Based on how my smart hubby was licking his fingers, for sure it was a winner.

Anyway, its all our experience there so far, but it has a quite well-designed menu, so worth trying it. Find a time, come down and give it a go, or just give yourself a little time to relax at The Groundskeeper, I must say, it’s a nice little spot.
