It’s always a relaxing and easy feeling sitting down in the Odd Room in Cheltenham for a coffee break and/or a family meal.
Odd Room | Location
Location wise, just like the name, it’s in the middle of a patch of small industrial businesses, is odd. If you are driving past, you can easily assume its just a little warehouse. However, the décor of the café is quite unique and classy, being a black and white framework with natural wooden fittings and a high ceiling. This does make you feel as if the temperature drops a few degrees once you walk in.
Please do not get annoyed by their small parking area in front of the cafe, all you need is to drive into the sideway called Middleton Street. Here, you will find quite a few parking spaces right behind the Odd Room in a fenced-off area. Plus, from here you can walk through a backdoor into the café and grab your takeaway, especially on a bad weather day.
Odd Room | Food
Now down to business, aka their food. A must be noted one would be their coffee, the people related to the cafe must be a bunch of coffee addicts as they do know how to make it hard to quit :). Also worth of mentioning is the “golden drop”, which works quite perfectly in ice coffee in a 40 degree summer day.
Apart from the coffee rush, getting something there to fill up your stomach is also a nice decision. Their Vanilla Panna Cotta with housemade toasted granola, raspberry coulis, seasonal berries, organic coconut flakes are refreshing, sweet yet not so rich. But if you are aiming at skipping lunch, get the gooey scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, truffled mushrooms, parsley on a buttery, big odd room breakfast or the matcha pancakes.

Just bear in mind, the Odd room does things in a bit interestingly odd way, as in it does change the menu depending on the seasonal produce based on my experience, so last time I checked, the pancake isn’t on the menu, but if you do want that, better ask the staff, they are super friendly to talk to and open to provide options if you require.

Anyway, so much to share so far, hope you find this place odd in a good way just like I did.
Have fun exploring!
Love,
PMD
