Pixar is back with another original story full of imagination, humour and heart. Their upcoming film Hoppers, set to hit cinemas on 6 March 2026, looks like a fresh and funny adventure that mixes technology, nature and plenty of Pixar-style emotion.
A brand-new trailer is now available below, so scroll down to watch it right here in this post.
What Is Hoppers About?
At the heart of Hoppers is Mabel Tanaka, a curious and kind-hearted girl who dreams of understanding the animal world. When scientists invent a way for humans to “hop” their consciousness into robotic animal bodies, Mabel volunteers for the ultimate experiment, becoming a robotic beaver.
Suddenly, she finds herself living in the forest, surrounded by talking animals, and seeing the world through completely new eyes. But her adventure takes a serious turn when she learns that a greedy developer is planning to destroy the animals’ habitat.
With her new friends including an ambitious beaver king, a clever bird and a gentle bear, Mabel must use her human heart and beaver instincts to save the forest before it’s too late. It’s an inspiring story about friendship, courage and understanding the balance between humans and nature, told with Pixar’s trademark warmth and wit.

The Voice Cast
Pixar has assembled a fantastic cast for Hoppers, featuring both familiar voices and exciting new talent.
- Piper Curda voices Mabel Tanaka, the film’s bright and curious lead who finds herself in the body of a robotic beaver.
- Bobby Moynihan plays King George, the slightly bossy but lovable beaver ruler who helps Mabel adjust to her new life.
- Jon Hamm voices Mayor Jerry, a smooth-talking politician with plans that could change the forest forever.
- Melissa Villaseñor lends her voice to Ellen the Bear, a calm and wise companion who becomes one of Mabel’s closest friends.
- Demetri Martin rounds out the cast as Tom, a witty and nervous bird with a knack for getting into (and out of) trouble.
This mix of comedy and heart gives Hoppers that perfect Pixar feel, funny, heartfelt and full of life.
Who’s Behind the Film?
Hoppers is written and directed by Daniel Chong, the creative mind behind We Bare Bears. His sense of humour and love for quirky, heartfelt storytelling are a perfect match for Pixar’s spirit.
The film is produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle, who also worked on Toy Story 4 and Soul, and the soundtrack is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh, known for his fun, energetic music in The LEGO Movie.
This creative team has already generated plenty of buzz for combining imaginative storytelling with emotional depth, two things Pixar fans can always count on.
The Animation and Visual Style
From what’s been shown so far, Hoppers features stunning animation that blends futuristic technology with the beauty of the natural world. The forest scenes are lush and detailed, while the robotic animals have a sleek, expressive look.
Expect Pixar’s signature visual magic, from sunlight filtering through leaves to realistic fur and rippling water.
Why Hoppers Feels Special
Pixar’s best stories make us laugh and cry while asking big questions, and Hoppers seems ready to do just that.
The film explores what it really means to connect with nature, the consequences of human invention, and how empathy can change the world. It’s filled with heartfelt moments, hilarious misunderstandings between animals and humans, and a beautiful message about protecting what we love.
If you enjoyed Wall-E, Finding Nemo or Inside Out, you’ll likely find Hoppers just as touching and imaginative.
When and Where to Watch
Pixar’s Hoppers will premiere in cinemas across Australia on 6 March 2026. As with most Pixar releases, it’s expected to arrive on Disney+ a few months later, but this one is designed to be enjoyed on the big screen, with stunning animation and an unforgettable soundtrack.
