Hein’s Bakery | Malvern

Here is a shout-out of a newcomer in the world of artisan bakery, introducing Hein's bakery!
Hein's Bakery

Colourful Yunnan is an old place actually, at least been on the map for a long time before it got more well known among the general public. Before that, it was pretty much a student lunch go-to place. I remember the story of it all started years ago on Flinders lane in this two-story space with narrow entry. Honestly, don’t think I would love going there now with a pram :).

This little bakehouse on Malvern road is for sure a new gem on the block, and if you are a fan of handmade pastries and freshly baked bread, definitely worth of popping in and give it a go. Trust me, you will go back.

Going there for a catch-up with friends, we were quite happy with the spacious set up of the café, and kids were entertained by the big bright windows where they can see the whole process in the kitchen or the tram passing by.

Coffee was quite a nice kick of the morning since all the pastries are made on the day since 4 am, we for sure had to try at least most of them, well, with the help of the kiddos, it wasn’t difficult.

Hein’s Bakery | The Food

The croissant was rich and crunchy outside, soft and light inside, the almond croissant is our favorite, it has quite a generous filling and full of nutty flavor but not too sweet, it will certainly become our new top dessert without much guilt.

Before you leave, make sure to check out their selection of bread, and take one home, apparently, their sourdough is their specialty, so your dinner can be solved easily in a yummy way.

Hein’s bakery opens every day, from early in the morning till early afternoon. Make sure you go grab your out of oven bread quick cause it runs out fast!

Hope you enjoy this sharing of a good find. Have a great Sunday!
